Thoughts/Questions Before Bed

QUICK BLOG BEFORE I GO TO SLEEP!

Tonight’s Benefit Concert was BEAUTIFUL.

I was kinda nervous to host because, uhh…let’s face it.  I’m awkward sometimes and I run on a million tangents most of the time.  But whatevs!  I got a good response and I felt good about my work today!

But I was really more nervous because it’s always the WORST when you’re sick and have to sing.  It’s like you suddenly have no control over your voice when your immune system fails you, but I can walk away happy with tonight’s set.  My voice didn’t give out.  Phew!  And geepers…seriously…the band freakin’ KILLED it.  Scratch that, they KILLT it.  Would that be an appropriate exaggeration of “KILLED IT”?  I think so.  Anywho, its been a few weeks since Matt and I played with TJ and Teon since we’ve had to go acoustic at Sandbar; so it was super refreshing to have the band back together.

The performers were all lovely tonight.  It’s so awesome when you find folks willing to contribute their time to a cause and actually take the time to learn about what they’re contributing to.  It was a treat to soak in the tremendous talent in the room and I’m so happy that we were able to book every act on the bill!!  They made the show SO FRESH!

I’m always taken aback by the Kasamas.  They’re always SO inspiring.  Couldn’t find another group with bigger hearts then these cats.  They put together an incredibly successful event, and I’m so glad I got to be part of it.  I think we definitely reached some goals tonight and definitely opened some eyes to what’s really going on in the Philippines.

It was beautiful to see a really abundant turn out tonight.  To see the support from the community was a blessing.  I’m glad people donated their time and funds to help our brothers and sisters who were affected by Typhoon Sendong.  Everyone’s contributions tonight will go such a long way in the Philippines and I’m so grateful for everyone who came out!

This evening’s event wouldn’t have been a success without every single person who attended the Benefit Concert tonight.  Keep sharing your “sunshine” on the daily y’all. :)
